Bread has been getting bad press lately. The wondrous proteins found in grains called gluten have brought fear into the hearts of men. This staple of man’s diet from the beginning of time is the latest food to be vilified in America. While some indeed have intolerances to these proteins, as others do to milk, nuts, etc. it is not the norm for all. As it is not a reason to place bread as the cause of all dietary problems.
Our Christianity has also been vilified lately as well. Many have chosen to not partake of God’s love and grace as if they have an intolerance to the Word, Justice, and Mercy of God. And yet this basic food of our souls is the strength we need to rise above problems.
We are called to feed the hungry. The hungry in body, and the starving soul. As we walk in faith this week seek the hungry and starving. Share the bread of life, and the bread of eternal life. Share the gluten of the soul, Jesus Christ. No one is allergic to his bread.

DAILY BIBLE READING

Meditate on scripture: return to the scripture that has resounded within you today. Hold it, look at it, ponder, meditate, and contemplate what it means for you, in your mind, heart, and actions. Take your time, make notes and think about what God is telling you today. Read as little or as much as you need to center in God’s inspiration for you. Too much in one sitting? Try New Testament in the Morning and OT at night.

PRAYERS

MORNING

Lord of love, I embrace your presence, your comfort, your strength. I seek your wisdom and direction as this day begins to unfold before me. Be gentle with me as you challenge me in my faith and trust. Shape me with your grace, that I may love well. Amen

Trust in the Lord with all your strength, love the Lord with all your heart, praise the Lord with all your thoughts, and pray to the Lord with all your soul. Our physical world challenges us with storms, with earthquakes, with obstacles. We are victims to heat, cold, drought, famine, and illness. The trust of grace leads us beyond fear, worry, and despair. Grace connects us to our Divine God and brings to the heart peace, fullness, joy, and solid footing. The rains will stop, the fires cease, the earth will stop its swaying, and obstacles moved. Give your inner self to God’s grace and trust, there are always more blessings to experience through love and trust in God’s grace. Ann

WAITING UPON THE LORD SILENT OR WRITTEN

* Find your quiet center, empty your mind, and be present to hear the voice of God. Color, write in a journal, listen to music, use prayer beads to help your focus. Concentrate upon what God is calling you to understand, change, make, explore…...

BENEDICTION

Lord of sun and cloud, guide me this day in love. All I have I have because of your grace. Let me recognize your love all day long that I may praise you in every moment.

DAYTIME

Set a reminder to pray throughout the day. Embrace the breath of prayer, release your burdens, be thankful.

God of clock, and earthly orbit I stop in this moment to seek you. I wait in sacred breath and earthly stillness to remember and rejoice in your grace. Define my priorities and actions in your grace, open my eyes to need, unclench my heart and hand to give. Lead me in your love. Amen

EVENING

Questions for Day that has Past
Did I take time to be in prayer with God and to be thankful for his mercies and blessings?
What are my goals tomorrow to be more connected to the Divine?
Did I in some way share the beauty of God to others through my words or actions?
Was I generous with my time and resources?
Did I challenge myself in faith?6. Did I grow in love for God and others today?
Did I extend the forgiveness that I desire to receive?

Divine Love, I pray as the day fades to release all negativity, hatred, hardness, contempt, and pain. Drain the darkness from soul and thought. Invoke within me the bravery to forgive, and the humility to reconcile with others, myself, and you my heart. Amen

WAITING UPON THE LORD SILENT OR WRITTEN*

BENEDICTION
Father of dry husk whispers and foggy wisps, I center my soul in your Spirit. I exalt the life of Jesus and your love destined to transform all souls through him. As night closed upon him his tears were streaked with the blood of life. You were there and knew his fear, his love for you, and his heart. As you comforted Christ wrap me in your grace. Enfold me in love, and sing me a lullaby of peace. Guide me in restful sleep free of the darkness of life and full of the beauty of your grace. Amen
